Interbeing
All things are without essence but with qualities that can be seen - Samadhi Sutra. This ancient text guides the reader through passages that remind us there is equality in all natural things that exist in the world. That our experiences and interactions are how we develop intelligence and insight.
There’s so much discussion about the future, AI and what this means to life’s evolution. As a Buddhist, it is difficult for me to engage in any thoughts beyond the mechanism of artificial creation - the wonder of what humans are capable of making. Once we remove the experience, there is no evolution or adaptation. Without the interaction, there is no essence. As more neurological consciousness research is done, the connection of information our bodies receive through physical and emotional events to the development of our minds is compelling. I find less interest exploring tools meant to remove them.
Consider this - we share 60% of our genetic coding with bananas. And our mitochondria profile is similar to a cactus. Our DNA structure is remarkably similar to Zebra Fish. Everywhere around you, there is a quality of life that informs, connects and creates essence through your interaction with it.
Our busy lives demand a few short cuts. But transformation does not have a timeframe. There is no option to put it in your Insta-Cart. Time, experience, contemplative connection - this is our forever journey.
